FRIDAY 2ND OCTOBER 2020: On the 28th September to 2nd October, the students of Grade 3 carried out a project to make mini models or scrapbooks to synthesise their knowledge on one of their Geography topics. They created physical artifacts to demonstrate their knowledge of villages, features of the villages as well as interesting facts about it. This was covered under their first unit of Geography. Life in a village in previous weeks.

 

They went through three phases for the project that span about two weeks. They took about two days for
Stage 1: Planning and preparing materials.

Stage 2: Took about four days which took place both in school and at home to create their artifacts and the final stage.

Stage 3: Students presented their village projects to the visitors, where students and teachers alike came to enjoy and appreciate their efforts.

 

It was a successful event with the efforts made by Grade 3 students alongside Teacher Irdina.

FRIDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2020:  On this day, the students of Grade 10 held a presentation on food and celebration during their English class.

 

The functionality of our body systems is largely dependent on the energy produced by the nutrients absorbed from the digested foods. Similarly, food serves as a symbol representing different groups of people since each ethnicity and/or race would serve a particular food species in commemoration of their cultural events and celebrations. 


Following a lengthy discussion under the theme of food and fitness, grade 10 students were assigned a task of researching a wide variety of foods from different parts of the world for a presentation in the subsequent class. After thorough research, the students identified some famous foods and desserts (i.e. Turkey, Mooncakes, Fortune cookies, Sheer Khurma, Vermicelli, Yule log and Jalebi) with details such as origins, how they are prepared and the celebrations in which they are usually served.
